These stunning bird seed ice ornaments are deceptively easy to make and would look so pretty hung in your garden over the Christmas season.
To make the ice ring place a glass inside a bowl and fill it with about 2 cms of water. Add some bird seed or cranberries and place it in the freezer over night.
For the ice cubes, cut a piece of twine and tie it into a loop. Fill the ice cube tray a third of the way with cranberries and add the twine loop with the knot facing down.
Fill the remaining space with bird seed and pour in a little water so there is a thin layer covering all the ingredients.
Full details can be found here and although these recipes suggest using cranberries and cube shaped ice trays, you could use whatever fruit you like and to make the decorations even more festive try some different shaped ice trays.
